Italy beckoned for our
vacation and in two weeks we saw a great deal. Venice was our first stop.
It had a mysterious aura with masks
and ancient alleys
traversed by the canals

| Pompeii I stepped back 2000 years in
Pompeii.
I preferred the First Style Period Art work.
It has greater simplicity. This style is characterized by the use
of faux marble painted on plaster, simulated masonry walls,
and ornate mosaic floors. Artists draw upon Hellenistic examples
of painting and architecture. Walls are divided into three
horizontal zones, with the top zone featuring a painted cornice. |
